Enable Developer Mode

To integrate ChafKit into your game and test the integration, you can enable the developer mode provided by the Chaf Games Desktop Application. Developer mode allows you to manually launch the game executable and issue a ChafKit Development Token for testing purposes.

Follow the steps below to enable developer mode:

  1. Install the Chaf Games Desktop Application by downloading it from the provided link: Download Chaf Games Desktop Application (opens in a new tab).

  2. Register a new Chaf Games account if you haven't already done so. Please note that the publisher account created from the Chaf Games Developer Platform is not compatible with the Chaf Games Service.

  3. After installation, login to the Chaf Games Desktop Application using your Chaf Games account credentials. Click on the user button located at the top right corner and select "Preferences" from the dropdown menu.

  1. In the preferences window, type dev. You don't need to select any input field. Typing dev when the preference window is focused will activate the developer mode menu. Once activated, you will see the "Developer Mode" menu item in the left sidebar.

  1. To fully enable developer mode, you need to verify the API Key. Open the Chaf Games Developer Platform and navigate to the Accounts page. Copy the API Key shown in the Member Info section.

  1. Paste the API Key into the developer mode preferences of the Chaf Games Desktop Application. Click the "Verify" button. Once the verification process is complete, you will see the message "API Key is verified," and a ChafKit Development Token will be issued below.

By enabling developer mode and verifying the API Key, you can fully utilize the developer mode features of the Chaf Games Desktop Application. This includes manually launching the compiled executable from the launcher and issuing a ChafKit Development Token for testing the integration of ChafKit into your game.
